Thinking of training and refresher courses, teacher (work) placements speak for themselves. The teacher's skills are updated by the placement and as a result students, future employees, receive up to date education. With this, their employability and flexibility are enlarged.

Participants:	European Teacher Placements are intended for teachers from all fields of study, from all types of education.
Placement:	Teachers get a work placement in a Dutch or foreign company, within the boundaries of the E.U.  During a European Teacher Placement Service teachers visit educational institutes and companies.
Duration:	The average duration of a placement is 1 - 2 weeks.
Costs:	The cost of placement are € 240,-  International activities are carried out  in close co-operation with the European Platform for Dutch Education in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Placement with a company abroad may be supported financially by the European Platform, provided certain conditions are met

A frequently asked question is how a teacher can find time to take part in one of the programmes. How can (s)he be set free of teaching tasks? The solution is often found in planning the placement in a period of the school year with relatively fewer classes, such as test periods or staff meetings. It also happens that a placement is spread over a period of some weeks. June is a favourite month to participate in a placement.

In 1999 sixteen Dutch teachers participated in a Teacher Placement abroad. They visited schools and companies in England, Greece, Scotland, Austria and Spain.
Fourteen foreign teachers participated in Teacher Placements in the Netherlands. They were from Greece, Spain Austria, Spain, France, Finland and the UK.
